Does he have to grow up?

We put Landon in the crib last night for the first time.  I've attempted several naps in the crib, but it's never lasted for more than 30 minutes.  We got him ready for bed and laid him down around 9 o'clock.  Over the next hour, we heard him sort of fussing.. then he would fall asleep, then wake up crying.  This happened a couple times.  I knew it was going to be hard.  Finally, I nursed him (even tho he had just had a full bottle before we laid him down) then put him back down.  He finally fell asleep around 10 and slept until around 5 o'clock!  He's only STTN once before, so this was great!  After he was fed again, we were able to get another couple hours of sleep in.

So it seems as tho he did very well in the crib once he finally fell asleep.  Me tho?  I was a wreck! I cried myself to sleep.  I hated it.  I didn't think I would be so emotional moving him into his room.  I mean I can leave him with Jordan, my mom, my mother-in-law.. to go out and I'm just fine.  I miss him, but I'm fine.  I couldn't even look at his empty bassinet without tears!  I missed him next to me, even if he did wake me up every few hours or so.  It was just comforting.  I'm very paranoid having him far away from me... we have a baby monitor that is a motion sensor (AngelCare) and a clip-on the diaper motion monitor (Snuza), so it eases my mind a little.

Landon is coming up on 4 months already.  Jordan says that, "yeah, it feels like it's been 3 months", but I feel as tho he was just born yesterday... that's how quickly time is going for me. It's definitely true that they say they grow up so quickly.  We are still waiting for him to roll over.. you would think that if he hated tummy time so much, that he would learn how to roll over back to his back!  I have a feeling his diaper might be inhibiting that tho!  Poor boy, I don't even know if he'll ever be able to discover his cute little feet with all that bulk on the butt.

My sweet, sweet Landon,

You turned 3 months on February 9th, 2012.  Where have the last 3 months gone? Funny enough, February 9th also marked 4 years since Daddy & I started dating.  You totally stole the thunder because I didn't even bring up what that date originally meant until we were all ready to go to bed.  You're my constant companion.  I love singing to you and making you smile.  I love when you blow bubbles and the noise that accompanies that.. and I love even more when you mimmic me when I make the sound.

You're just starting to laugh.. but you seem to get the hiccups every time.  We are still waiting for that big belly laugh.  You're such a happy baby and you have the most adorable toothless smile I have ever seen. :)  You get fussy in the evenings sometimes or if you haven't taken a nap, but for the most part you don't cry unless you're hungry.  You love when I sing Hakuna Matata from The Lion King (I promise you'll watch it one day- it's one of Mommy's favorite Disney movies) Your face lights up in a big smile.
You are still in 3 month & 3-6month clothing.. but I could probably still fit you in some 0-3 if it weren't for your cloth diapers.  You hate tummy time, so you haven't rolled over yet.  You hold your head up amazingly well, you have been for weeks.. but we need to get you more time on the tummy!

Daddy reads you a story every night while mommy gets your bottle ready for you.  I think you really enjoy that time with your daddy.. you don't fuss, you just sit contently on his lap while he reads.

Landon, you are the most wonderful little baby boy.  Your daddy and I love you SO much it's ridiculous.

Love,
Mommy <3

Getting so big!

I can't get over the fact that this little guy is already in his 3-6month clothes.  I'm going to have to go through his drawers and put away anything smaller.  It's exciting because he's fitting into new things, but sad because well.. he's getting so big!  I went to put on a pair of his footie jammies the other night that were a size 0-3month and they were too short!  I wanted to cry.  In 4 days he will be 3 months.. it's ridiculous how fast time as been flying by.  I should start planning his 1st Birthday party at the rate time is going!

My sister gave me this Chicco walker before Landon was born.  A couple nights ago, I was putting clothes away and thought to myself, "hey, let me try this out with him!"  He loved it!  His little legs can't touch the floor yet, but he was having a lot of fun just banging on the buttons and making the lights flash & music play!  We brought it downstairs now and his daddy loves pushing him in it.  It's so funny watching it!

Landon & I will be taking our first road trip together tomorrow.  We are heading up to my parents house in Jersey.  He's very excited to see his grandmom&grandpop, his Aunt Erica, and his cousin Becca. :)

Lazy day...

Today has been a very lazy day.. Landon is sleeping much better at night, but this morning when I got up.. I lazy fed him in bed, then proceeded to fall asleep with him for the next hour.  I've spent most of the day talking/singing to him and watching him smile.  Yesterday I took lots&lots of photos of him...

I may be a bit bias, but he is seriously the cutest baby I have ever seen in my entire life.  I love his expressions, his noises, his cute little hands and feet.  He has the sweetest face I have ever seen.  He's currently napping in his swing next to me.. before he fell asleep he was sucking on his duck Wubbanub that we so nicely named Roger.. and he was holding onto his head and wings... cutest. thing. ever.  I love seeing him do new things.  I wish he enjoyed tummy time a bit more.. he hasn't rolled over yet.  He starts to panic and cry when we put him on his tummy.. and I know it's good for him to learn things like rolling over, but it breaks my heart that he hates tummy time so much! I can't just sit there and let him cry when I know he's uncomfortable, so I flip him back over.  Oops, lol.
